Skull and Snake
This shoe is inspired by my artwork tilted 'Skull and Snake'. It incorporates the primary colors, curvilinear lines and rich textural quality evident in the piece.
AY Sea
This shoe titled 'AY Sea' is a pun on the work from which it is derived- a render of the Africa Youth Center. The shoe possesses marine qualities with its blue, aquamairne and army green colors. The inclusion of yellow is meant to refer both to the 'sun' as well as the 'dock' which both indicate arrival of some sense-Arrival to the center and to daytime.
Blu Flame
These senakers are inspired by the night-time render of the family home in my housing development titled 'Blu Gardens'. The inclusion of 'flame' into the title is to refer to the lighting within the home and wood veneer that gives it a glow at night. Therefore, warm colors such as yellow and orange are employed in the design.
Papyrus
This shoe is dubbed 'papyrus' as that was the precursor to the development of paper and the work is inpired by my sketches that aid my design process. The colors emplyed allude to the tone of paper and the inclusion of green is symbolic for 'growth' that occurs through practice.
